On November 2-3, the French President François Hollande visited China to promote the Paris climate summit. On this unique occasion, WeSmart had the honour to meet the French President in Beijing.

This two-day state visit was important to discuss climate negotiations ahead of the United Nations (UN) Paris Climate Conference (COP21), which start on November 30th. The French President met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss how to reduce emissions that will allow global warming to be kept within the 2 degree limit. WeSmart also strives to reduce energy consumption and therefore CO2 emissions, which will surely help the President to reach his goal within the COP21 framework.

China will be a key participant at the conference in Paris. "The support of the Chinese Government is essential," President François Hollande said, adding: "The fight against global warming is a humanitarian issue – how the planet can be preserved – and it is also an issue of considerable economic importance, of what we call green growth."

Major world leaders and their delegates will attend the COP21. During this conference the nations’ progress will be assessed and will agree on a universal participation to keep global warming below 2 degrees.
